The year is 2020. Everything sucks. When the world is falling apart, we often rely on artists to create something profound and inspiring to make us hope again. But that seems hard. And also like a lot of pressure. We thought it might be easier and more fun to create something shallow and pointless to make us laugh again.

So we sent out a call for the world's worst short plays... and the world delivered. After reading through almost 100 hilariously horrible plays (and after having a few artistic crises about the surprisingly thin line between trash and masterpiece), our panel has selected these eight finalists to receive a staged reading in January 2021— which we'll be broadcasting online!
